The PALS Provider Course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high‐performance team dynamics and high‐quality individual skills. This instructor-led course includes a series of case scenario practices with simulations that reinforce important concepts. Upon successful completion of all the patient cases, students must pass the multiple-choice exam with a minimum score of 84%.
This course allows for completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers for an additional fee. We also utilize in class electronic testing so you will need to access the email address with which you registered.

If you are a UMMC Employee, depending upon your department, you may or may not be responsible for payment. RTL staff will cross reference your department with your employee number and send payment invoices to the indicated party. If UMMC pays for you, we will bill through journal entry. If UMMC does not pay for your certification, you will be responsible for the course charges. If you have questions regarding payment responsibility, please contact your supervisor or the Training Laboratory.
