For RQI online courses: DO NOT REPORT TO THE TRAINING CENTER. Disregard the course time.
RQI online modules will be issued on the course date by the end of the day. After completing the online modules, the skills assessment via manikin cart is typically available 24/7 to all UMMC students and employees. Non-UMMC trainees must make an appointment with the RTC to access a manikin station by contacting rtc@umc.edu. Detailed instructions will be emailed when online modules are issued.
Please note: Once a course is initiated by a user, the course is considered delegated and cannot be revoked or transferred to another user. If you are a UMMC employee, the cost of this course may be absorbed by UMMC. Please check with your manager to confirm. If you receive the course at no cost and do not complete the course within 90 days of issuance or your department will not pay for the course, the Resuscitation Training Center will seek reimbursement for the cost of the entire course.
The PALS Provider Course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high‐performance team dynamics and high‐quality individual skills
This offering includes online precourse work and skill assessments with a manikin station located on the UMMC campus. This course is completed without a live instructor and may be used for initial or renewal certifications. Upon course completion, a certification card is available in your RQI account.

If you are a UMMC Employee, depending upon your department, you may or may not be responsible for payment. RTC staff will cross reference your department with your employee number and send payment invoices to the indicated party. If UMMC pays for you, we will bill through journal entry. If UMMC does not pay for your certification, you will be responsible for the course charges. If you have questions regarding payment responsibility, please contact your supervisor or the Training Center.
If you are an HMP Employee, please choose the $0.00 UMMC Employee (UMMC-pay) option.
If you are not a current student/employee of UMMC, please choose the Non-UMMC trainee option.
